Founder Matt Ratliff has been developing land and building for more than 20 years. I spend most of my time on business development and building relationships with customers and vendors. I have had the pleasure of growing up and then raising my family here in Bryan College Station.
In my spare time, I focus on family, BBQ’s, fishing, and a great network of friends. Happy Homes TX was started with a dream that I had of working with my son’s. From coaching them in pee wee football to now watching them Graduate from Texas A & M university and now run parts of the company this dream has come true. There is no greater pride or joy, we are truly living our best life and are so thankful everyday.

For most of my career, I tried to do business on my own terms and will it to happen. For years, I operated this way on an island, and while I had some success, it felt lonely and made me an angry person. Daylon and Kelton (two of my sons), joined the company, and together we have transformed a real estate development and home-building company into an opportunity to help other families. We hope to create a larger footprint to help families find their freedom and bring them closer together. That is our mission.
Construction Operations are run by Daylon Ratliff, a Texas A&M Construction Science graduate. Daylon, in his spare time he loves to live a healthy lifestyle, fishing and spending time with his girlfriend and family. Daylon is one of the hardest working people I know, first one to the job and the last one to leave. He has a no quit attitude, and a perfectionists mindset. Details matter to him and making customers happy is what drives his daily activities.

Construction Site Operations are run by Kelton Ratliff, when he finds time you will find him covered in oil working on his old ford truck or hunting in the backwoods. Kelton is a laid back people pleaser with a very high work ethic. He adores his girlfriend and I tell him all the time how lucky he is. He makes friends easily, and will go out of his way to make sure the job is done right. He always has a smile on his face and never complains.

In his free time, he is often found covered in oil, working on his old Ford truck, or hunting in the backwoods. Kelton is laid-back and a people pleaser with a very high work ethic. Making friends easily, he goes out of his way to ensure the job is done right. Kelton is known for always having a smile on his face and never complaining.

Our custom homes are meticulously designed by Casey Scurlock. We specialize in structural and aesthetic details that matter, like high living room ceilings with large windows allowing ample natural light. Features include 12′ x 8′ double sliding glass doors off the kitchen, enabling a seamless indoor/outdoor dining experience on the spacious back porch. Our kitchens boast large islands, custom vent hoods, and upgraded appliances, ideal for large family gatherings. The huge butler pantries come with built-in workstations, appliance storage, and organized food storage. Our homes feature large custom wood-burning fireplaces for cozy winters. The luxury master suites are designed with large feature showers with glass walls and beautiful freestanding tubs. Master baths include generous vanities with split sinks and sitting areas, leading to large single or dual closets that flow into the laundry room, connected directly to the mud room.
